Helpful Information

Please read through all questions before your appointment. If you have any other questions, feel free to email or text (8am-5pm) to ask!

  • What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is a semi-permanent tattoo that implants pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, which can last anywhere between 1-3 years. The purpose of permanent makeup is to enhance your natural features and allow you to wake up with makeup! With permanent makeup you can have perfect brows without ever having to do a thing!
  • Does it hurt?
Yes and no! Yes, it will hurt at first, but it won’t last the whole time. I will pre-numb you with a topical anesthetic for about 20 minutes which begins the numbing process, but until I “break skin” it will still hurt. This part averages a 3-4 on the pain scale of 1-10, but don’t worry- this won’t last too long (~10 minutes)! After breaking skin, I will put another numbing cream on and that will help decrease any discomfort significantly. More numbing cream will continue to get applied throughout your appointment as needed, usually around 2-3 times. Majority of people feel absolutely no pain after the secondary numbing, and rate it a 0 out of 10 on the pain scale.
  • How long does permanent makeup last?
On average permanent makeup lasts 1-3 years depending on several factors. Your skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, and touch up frequency will affect the longevity. If you have oily skin, workout often, or are in the sun a lot, your permanent makeup will likely fade faster. Some skin care products include ingredients that can also make it fade quicker. You will receive a complementary touch up 6 weeks after your initial appointment and it is recommended to get an annual touch up (needed anywhere from 1 year-2 years) to freshen up your color.
  • Who is not eligible for permanent makeup?
You can not receive permanent makeup if you are: -Under the age of 18 -Pregnant or breastfeeding -Have a sunburn, acne, rosacea, or other skin conditions on the procedure area -Are undergoing cancer treatment (must be off chemotherapy and radiation for 6 months) -Have used Accutane within the past year -Have HIV, AIDS or Hepatitis -Are prone to keloid scarring -Currently taking antibiotics Consult your doctor before getting permanent cosmetics if you: -Have epilepsy -Have a pacemaker or heart problems -Have Lupus -Have had an organ transplant -Have high blood pressure
  • What factors affect permanent makeup?
The following factors can affect the longevity of your permanent cosmetics and cause it to fade faster: oily skin, smoking, anemia and iron deficiency, sun exposure, age and metabolism, bleeding during the procedure, use of retinol or exfoliators on procedure area, and how well you follow your aftercare!
  • Will I need a follow-up appointment?
A 5-8 week touch up appointment is necessary to assess your pigment retention and make any adjustments. This appointment is included in the initial price. A yearly touchup is recommended to boost your color.
  • What is the healing process like?
In short, It's an emotional rollercoaster! Read through what to expect below, follow the aftercare directions, and trust the process(: -Immediately following the procedure there may be redness and swelling. -For the first couple of days your procedure area will appear dark and bold. -During the healing phase the procedure area will start to flake. It is important that you do not pick or scratch the flakes. -When the flakes fall off on their own, it may appear lighter underneath then what it will heal to be. The skin is still healing itself, and once it does the pigment will fully resurface. -The average initial healing time is around 10 days, but your procedure area won't be completely healed and the color fully resurfaced until 4 weeks. Depending on your skin type, some people retain color better than others. This is why your touch up is complementary and necessary so we can make adjustments as needed.
  • If I’ve had permanent makeup before, can you fix it or touch it up?"
If you have had previous permanent makeup done, you must email pictures prior to booking (unless it is almost completely faded). Please send a close up picture from several angles. After analyzing the pictures we can discuss your options.
  • Do I need a consultation?
There is enough time during your appointment to answer any questions you should have. If you have any specific questions prior to your appointment, feel free to email or text me. If you still feel like you need a consultation, please let me know and we can schedule a short consultation via Zoom or FaceTime. Zoom/ FaceTime consultations are NOT for determining which procedure you want. Please read through the "Services" tab to determine this for yourself, or narrow it down so you can ask during your appointment. That being said, you are more than welcome to change your mind on which brow style you want at your appointment. For example, just because you select ombre brows when scheduling does not mean you cannot switch to combo brows at your appointment.
  • How long will my appointment take?
You can expect the first appointment to take around 2.5-3 hours for brows. Though it may seem like a long time, this includes pre-numbing, mapping, shaping, continual numbing, etc. The touch up appointment takes around 1 hour.
  • Should I wear makeup to my brow appointment?
It is completely up to you! The benefit of wearing your usual brow makeup to your appointment is that I can see how you usually do your makeup. This can show me the color and shape that you are use to and we can talk about expectations based on this and changes needed.
  • What is your cancelation policy?
A $100 deposit is required for all bookings. I require 48 hour notice to make any changes to your appointment for you to receive your deposit back. All cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment will result in your deposit being forfeited. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will need to reschedule, and your deposit will be forfeited. If you "no-show" your touch up appointment that is included in your initial price, you will be required to pay a deposit to reschedule it.
  • What's the difference between machine microblading, ombre powder brows, and combo brows?
See the picture below to see the different styles, or head to the services page to read more about them.
  • Should I wax my brows before my appointment?
No! I need to see exactly where your hair grows when I shape your brows. After I shape them I will clean them up!
